Large Healthcare System

The Need

The company was looking to consolidate its voluntary benefit program, as well as implement an active enrollment on a new benefit administration system. The client was extremely concerned about having enough of their own resources to help educate their employees on their benefit changes and their new benefit administration system.

 The Solution

NEES worked with the company during core open enrollment.
We introduced a well-rounded core and voluntary benefit communication campaign to employees using:

  • Benefit advisors at every location to meet one-on-one with employees during every shift at every location. Advisors discussed all benefits available through the company.
  • Web and telephone enrollment support.
  • Out of approximately 11,000 employees on the medical plan, 9600 employees elected to meet with a benefit counselor to receive education on their benefit changes and the new benefit administration system.
  • Ongoing monthly enrollment support of new hires.

The Results

Overall understanding and appreciation of their benefits program was increased. NEES received a 94% approval rating from employees which was discovered via benefit surveys conducted by the employer. We conducted 9600 benefit counseling sessions, which saved the hospital a tremendous amount of time and resources. Participation in the Voluntary Benefits program was increased from 18% to 52%.

National Fitness Company

A national operator of fitness centers with more than 3,000 employees at more than 150 locations.

The Need

The company was looking to expand its benefits package to include disability coverage and other forms of income protection. It also was facing the challenges of a diverse, spread out employee population. Participation in and understanding of existing plans were low. The company wanted to improve both.

The Solution

NEES worked with the company during core open enrollment. We introduced a well-rounded voluntary benefit program to employees using:

    • Benefit advisors at every locations to meet one-on-one with employees. Advisors discussed all benefits available through the company.
    • Web and telephone enrollment support.
    • Benefit statements and booklets.
    • Bi-lingual communication pieces and benefit advisors.
    • Ongoing monthly enrollment support of new hires.

The Results

Overall Medical Plan participation increased from 57% to 72%. Participation in the Voluntary Benefits program was 55%.
“I was a bit surprised – pleasantly surprised – that so many of our employees signed up for voluntary benefits in this economy,” says the company’s director of compensation and benefits. “We had a nice increase in the number of employees signing up for core benefits, and that’s what we were hoping for,” says the company’s director of compensation and benefits.

Testimonials

Testimonial from the Director of Administration for a Large Banking Association

“As we near the end of the first year of our partnership with your office in offering Voluntary Supplemental benefits to our member banks, I would like to express my appreciation for all your help. My sense is that the accounts, which you took over from our previous carrier, were very pleased with your enrollment process and are very satisfied with your on-going servicing. New accounts also report that they are happy with their relationship with your New England Enrollment Strategies. From our perspective as the sponsor of the Voluntary Supplemental Benefits Program, we believe that your educational efforts have established a good foundation for growing the program. The Webinars and individual bank presentations have been effective. We are anticipating growing interest and enrollment in this program in the coming year.”

Testimonial from the president of a state trooper organization with 4,000 members

“This letter is to recommend the services of New England Enrollment Strategies. In 2010, we significantly enhanced our benefits offerings to our members by offering several insurance products.

We also worked closely with New England Enrollment Strategies to design a benefits book which was distributed to all of our members. This book not only highlighted the insurance products available through New England Enrollment Strategies but also summarized all of our existing benefit offerings. This benefit book also served as an advocate of our Signal 30 Fund, which was designed to assist and support the members of our organization in extraordinary circumstances such as illness, injury, and loss of residences to fires or floods. Most recently it has been used in circumstances where troopers have been killed in the line of duty.

New England Enrollment Strategies has served the members of our organization professionally and knowledgeably. They have been able to assist and guide our members about the product as well as helping them understand what plan was the best value for their personal financial situation.

Based on my personal relationship with New England Enrollment Strategies, I recommend them for your voluntary benefit needs.”

Testimonial from the area president of a national employee benefits firm

“I am convinced that sharing the solutions NEES brings through your team is critical to launching our clients forward.  You cannot truly care about employee engagement if you do not understand what is distracting your employees from doing their best job at work. The evidence is so clear about the stressors of financial insecurity.  Your approach helps settle that insecurity in a personalized way that allows dignity in the decision-making process.

Thanks for the partnership and thanks again for always going further for our agency.”
